My "Avanti" P180 3D model, in Carrara Studio

The 2009 follow-along article has been deleted from my site, but is included in "Modeling with MODO, Volume One".

The image below is my final 2007 render of the Avanti model I made in Carrara Studio.

Not much documentation when I started...

I started building my 3D model in 1995, before I had all the documentation from Piaggio. So, this simple representative render shows how I began. It's not scale, but composed entirely out of "stand-in" parts, while waiting on the information I needed to make it precise.

The MP4 movie at the bottom of this page shows the complete process of creating this now-ancient Carrara model, in a 5-minute compilation of renders.
